| Project description |
The German-Russian project aims to increase the competitiveness of milk production in Oblast Kaliningrad and to contribute though to the improvement of the value chain in rural areas of Kaliningrad region. The political project partner on the Russian side is the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery of the Oblast Kaliningrad. Executing partner is the Milk Producers' Association of Kaliningrad (APM) which is an association of the larger milk production enterprises. Other executive partners are the National Technical University of Kaliningrad (KSTU), the Cattle breeding organisation of Kaliningrad and regional agricultural administrations involved in the implementation of the project. Main components of the project programme are the implementation of a systematic extension service for milk production enterprises, the analysis and further development of the agricultural policy to support milk production in Kaliningrad, the modernisation of cattle breeding, the improvement of milk quality and the education and training of specialists and executive staff of milk production enterprises and service organisations. |
