PPP - Further Development of Modern Milk and Meat Production Technologies in the Russian Federation

The objective of this Public-Private-Partnership Project is the dissemination of modern milk and meat production technologies in Russia. The project is financed through the international cooperation programme of the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV) and co-financed by several private partners of the German and Russian livestock sector. Main activities of the project are:

• Provision of an extensive training programme in Russia and Germany for Russian dairy farm managers, farm veterinarians and other professional staff of dairy farms

• Advisory support to innovative dairy farms to optimise their production technologies and to strengthen them to act as “demonstration farms”

• Organisation and management of field demonstrations and trials on livestock farms in co-operation with local partners

• Fostering the co-operation and exchange of experience between German and Russian organizations and firms in the livestock sector

• Technical assistance to identification economically viable meat production systems in RF in cooperation with Russian and German project partners

• Organisation of conferences and workshops on different topics related to dairy and meat production development in the RF and dissemination of information about best practice in livestock farming
