Modernization of Agricultural Knowledge and Information System (MAKIS) in Romania

ADT as partner of the two Romanian Universities of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara is currently providing services for the four-weeks training of 800 extension and advisory specialists in Romania and in setting up Training and Information Centres (TICs) in North-West, Central and West regions of Romania.

 

The main objectives of these two projects are to improve the capacity of the research, extension and food safety specialists to better serve the needs and improve competitiveness of farmers/producers and processors in the context of EU accession, to increase access of farmers and processors to knowledge on technologies related to production, quality control, food safety, processing and marketing in order to meet the EU requirements.

Both projects started in October 2008 with the duration until March 2010.
