Agricultural Advisory Services
Advisory services for small and and large scale livestock and agricultural farms can be an important driving force for the development of the agricultural sector. Successful operating advisory services require appropriate institutional structures and financing, organisation, management and quality assurance systems. Effective agricultural advisory services dispose on an extensive network to public administration, agricultural research stations, universities and agricultural input suppliers.
Qualification programmes for extension & advisory staff are not limited to the transfer of technical know-how but also include extension & consultancy methodology, advisory tools and policy and the preparation of tailormade extension messages to suit particular problems of specific target groups.
Many training modules, brochures and handbooks for the advisory staff in different languages are at the disposal of ADT Projekt which are covering all relevant technical and managerial areas such as farm business analysis and planning, farm accounting, application of specific advisory instruments for the ongoing monitoring of the production process, instruments for horizontal and vertical farm analyses/comparisons, investment planning, credit management, labour and farm organisation and management, marketing, animal health management, production techniques in milk, meat, pork, and crop production, fodder production and feeding technologies, farm mechanisation, construction and reconstruction of farm buildings, resource saving technologies and organisation of field days and exchange of experience of farm managers.
ADT Projekt supported successfully the establishment of several agricultural advisory services and agricultural advisory teams for large scale dairy and agricultural farms in the Russian Federation and Ukraine (Manager Moloko, AKT Ukraine). Beside this, specific training courses had been provided to more than 200 staff members of the National Agricultural Advisory Service in Romania to enable them to support farmers and rural entrepreneurs in business and investment planning and in the application process for specific EU and national funds.
